WELLINGTON ROTARY FUND-RAISING PROJECT
FOR PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY NEW HOSPITAL
March 1, 2022
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED
We are writing at this time to pass on the great news the Wellington Rotary Club has achieved our target of $400,000 in support of the new hospital to be built in Prince Edward County.
Your substantial donation has helped us reach our goal ahead of schedule, and we wish to acknowledge that we would not have made it without your help.
The current timetable for the new build calls for substantial completion in 2027, however, we are now advised that there will be pre-construction work to relocate the Helipad and improvements along Main Street to incorporate new water lines the new building will require starting in the spring of 2022.
We have already presented $100,000 to the PECMH Foundation, and are presently holding the balance in our Trust account pending receipt of full assurance the new building will proceed as has always been our promise to you. The work that is to start in the spring of 2022 would possibly be the precursor for the assurance we seek.
Your donation, along with funds we have raised through Rotary Club activities will be recognized by the naming of the Emergency Department Waiting Room in our honour. Suitable recognition of individual gifts is being planned, and we will provide details as they become available.
We have now officially wound down our Hospital campaign, but have now agreed to raise an additional $60,000 for a new Automated Endoscope Reprocessor for improved efficiency in the Endoscopy Screening unit at PECMH. We will also continue to identify other local community needs, and enthusiastically pursue our Rotary motto of “Service above Self”.
Yours in Community Service,

Cheque remitted to PECMHF on September 11, 2020 as first installment for our commitment to raiser $400,000 for the new Hospital.
Coinciding with Valentine's day this year, in another act of love for the hospital, the Rotary Club of Wellington has entered into a second pledge commitment with PECMHF to fund up to $60,000 for the purchase of an Automated Endoscope Reprocessor (AER), needed in the Medical Device Reprocessing Department at Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital.
