As my year as President of the Rotary Club of Wellington ends, I am reminded of a simple truth: no President accomplishes anything alone. Whatever successes we have celebrated this year are the result of a dedicated team of leaders, volunteers, and members who generously shared their time, talents, and passion for Rotary. 

In my recent President Messages, I have attempted to thank everyone and for this, my final message, I would like to specifically thank our Board. 

Past President Roger has been an invaluable source of guidance and encouragement throughout the year. Drawing on his 39-year history with Rotary and experience from other clubs, he continually brings fresh ideas and perspectives to our Club. His leadership was evident in initiatives such as the Fellowship Dinners and the organization of our recent Past Presidents' Night. 

Tomorrow, Chris begins his year as Club President. As president-elect, he has been preparing for this role all year, and I know he will bring enthusiasm, commitment, and new ideas to the position. I believe I can speak for the club that we wish him every success as he takes the helm. 

Our Secretary, Lyn, works tirelessly behind the scenes. She keeps attendance records, prepares weekly meeting and monthly Board minutes, and recently prepared two District Grant applications. Much of what keeps our Club operating smoothly happens because of her dedication and attention to detail. 

Treasurer Bill P carefully manages the Club's finances and works closely with project leaders to ensure our initiatives remain fiscally responsible and sustainable. His stewardship provides the foundation upon which so much of our work depends. 

Peter, our Membership Director, has helped welcome three new members this year—John Hatch, Mary McCown, and Conrad Guziewicz. Welcome to Rotary! Peter also oversees our Friends of Rotary program, assists with weekly breakfasts, and somehow still finds time to collect dues. 

Phyo's leadership in Policy and Administration ensures that our Club remains well governed and operates according to Rotary's guiding principles. His knowledge and advice have been invaluable. 

Liz has elevated our Public Image efforts to new heights. Through media coverage, social media posts, and community outreach, she has helped ensure that the great work of our Club receives the recognition it deserves. 

Norm continues to lead our literacy portfolio while supporting numerous other initiatives including D&D books, electronic recycle and Storybook walk, throughout the year. His commitment to education and youth opportunities has strengthened our impact in the community. 

I would also like to recognize our Breakfast Committee. Ken has faithfully organized our weekly breakfasts for many years and recently stepped aside after mentoring John Hatch into the role. Thank you, Ken, for your years of service, and thank you, John, for stepping forward. Peter's support behind the scenes is also greatly appreciated. 

A special thank you as well to Martha for taking on the leadership of our newly established Rotary Youth Exchange Committee. Our Club is excited to once again participate in this important Rotary program after many years away. 

Of course, our Club's success extends far beyond the Board. We have numerous committees, project leaders, Friends of Rotary, and members who contribute in ways both large and small. At the risk of overlooking someone, I simply want to thank every member for your participation, commitment, and willingness to help make our Club the best it can be. 

One of the highlights of the year was celebrating what may be a Club record - nine Paul Harris Fellow recognitions. Congratulations to Bill P. and Peter who both received two recognitions this year, along with Dave H., Howard, Liz, Tim, and the Club President. It is inspiring to see so many members recognized for their commitment to Rotary and to Service Above Self. These awards remind us that while projects may come and go, it is people who make Rotary extraordinary. 

Serving as President of the Rotary Club of Wellington has been one of the greatest privileges of my Rotary journey. I am grateful for your support, your friendship, and your trust throughout this past year. Together, we have accomplished much, strengthened our community, and continued Rotary's tradition of Service Above Self.
