President's Message
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
We are fortunate to have family and friends by our sides to welcome the long weekend and feasts at this time of year. I hope that everyone had a great time with your loved ones or however you were with.
Over the weekend, we had our boys and their better halves out with the kiddies for the weekend and Thanksgiving Dinner
As an adventure, we took them all to the Wild Water Buffalo Ranch here in the County, just up off of County Road # 2. Even thought it had rained earlier in the day it turned out to be a great day. The grand kids were all smiles as these big beasts strutted over to see us when we stopped the vehicle.
And big they were, but they were more like pets and lovable dogs who wanted to have their heads rubbed an a little scratch here and there. One brushed up beside me and pushed against me like he wanted attention. Awe another head rub!
No matter what you did with your family, I am sure that everyone was grateful and a good time was had by all.
With the change of seasons, which happened not so long ago, comes chillier nights, darker morning and earlier sunsets. It is still a great time of year to get out and go for walks and enjoy the fresh clean air.
Stay close to your loved ones, and take time to snuggle and share some good cheer.
Happy Thanks Giving.
I
Dave Robinet
Last Week: Martha Murphy and Cathy Beamish, I Can Foundation
Martha Murphy and Cathy Beamish are from the Rotary Club of Campbelford. They apprised us of a charitable initiative that they are sponsoring called the I Can Foundation in St. Marten (on the Dutch side). It is a shelter for vulnerable children. There are 6 bedrooms and it has a capacity for 23 children. It is run by the local Rotary Club in St Marten, by volunteering operations and management of the facility and sweat equity labour. They are currently building additional space using sea-tainers to house 6 children who have grown up in the facility and they are now 18, but require housing as they try to get full time jobs. They will be housed until they are 23. Cathy Beamish discovered this project in her many journeys to St. Marten.
The Campbelford Rotary Club is sponsoring $3000 and they have received a District 7070 grant of $1000. They believe there is more district grant available if they can get two additional clubs to participate.
In other Club business, November 19th has been set for potluck dinner for the Club's anniversary. We will determine location at a later date.
The Club decided to go ahead and do minor repairs and post-season cleanup to the boardwalk at the Beach. John Inwood and Phyo Kyi will organize a crew for next week (Tues Oct 15) and will also coordinate/correspond with Tanya Delaney from the County.

Of the things we think, say, and do:
1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOODWILL and better
FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
