September 2, 2022 - The Wellington Rotary Club had an official opening of the Story Book Walk at the Millennium Trail, led by Rotarian Linda Donville, and constructed by Rotarian Ted Nash.
Our first book for the Story Book Walk is a children’s story, "Music is for Everyone", which is written by a Canadian songstress, Jillian Barber. The walk is intended to combine early literacy and encourage the love of reading to children. The intention is for an adult to accompany the child, and enjoy walking along the trail with the child while promoting the love of reading in a natural environment, with active movement.
The project was led by Rotarian Linda Donville, and fellow Rotarian, Ted Nash, built the stands from prepared plans that were included from last storybook walks.
In attendance for the official opening were Brian and Joyce Barber, Jill’s parents, who reside in the county. Mayor Steve Ferguson was in attendance and offered his support and congratulations to the Wellington Rotary Club.
Congratulations to our Wellington Rotary Club and it’s members, and congratulations to Jill Barber for promoting the love of music in an engaging and playful manner.
